Today Becomes Tmrw, and so on, Forever

Kiley Saunders author writer journal entry

We go to bed almost every night and think

"Tomorrow will be the day. I am starting tomorrow."

But then tomorrow comes. Tomorrows become todays, the todays become right now, they become your reality. You can't make your reality in the future. You can only make it right now. It is only now. Tomorrow could be the middle of the day. How brave are the people that start a new day right in the middle of another? Very brave. These people say "no more," and "right now." They aren't compromising. They are uncompromising. They are resilient. They are Strong Will. They are awesome. Awesome is my favorite thing to be called. Not she's hot or she's cool or she's the shit, but she's awesome. For some reason, awesome implies that they are the best version of themselves to the point that others can see and enjoy it.

If life is a journey, and most of us can agree on that, then why don't we agree more—or at least upon more, that is—about the journey.

If point A is birth (let's think linearly).

What is point B? Graduation?

Getting a job?

Having a family? Losing a parent? Finding your purpose?

Look at this graph. The answer is none of the above.

The answer is B. The answer is death.

We are continually "making a living," or "building a life," so make sure you bring your tools.

And that journey will have ups and downs and full-on flatlines and everything. So tell your friends you love them. Tell your friends you're proud of them. Tell your friends you're thinking of them. This life is not about the journey, it simply is the journey.
